Belthangady


Belthangady is the taluk headquarters and one of the important places of Dakshina Kannada district. Belthangady is located at a distance of 63 Km from Mangalore.

The entire Belthangady taluk is covered by the forest and presence of the Western Ghats enhances the scenic beauty makes this place as one of the important tourist destinations. The place looks more beautiful during monsoon season, from June to September.

Dharmasthala: Dharmasthala is one of the important pilgrim centres for Hindus. The main attraction of this place is a temple dedicated to Manjunathaswamy (Lord Shiva). Other attractions of this place include a temple dedicated to Ammanavaru and Annappa Swamy. Shrines built for the Dharma Devatas (Kumaraswamy, Kalarahu, Kalarkayi and Kanyakumari) at Bidinade Betta.
