Dharwad, also known as Dharwar, has a history of more than 900 years. Hubli or Hubballi (in kannada) is major city and important industrial town. Hubli is located just 20 km south-east of Dharwad. There are machine tools industries, electrical, steel furnitures, food products, rubber and leather industries and tanning industries.
