ISKCON Hare Krishna temple, Bangalore
The ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) temple at Bangalore is dedicated to lord Krishna. The ISKCON temple is situated on a seven-acre hillock, which is also referred as the 'Hare Krishna Hill'. The ISKCON temple is located on the West of Chord Road, Bangalore.
The Hare Krishna temple at Bangalore was built to honor the birth centenary of Sri Prabhupada, the founder of the ISKCON.
The Hare Krishna temple is built in the Neo-Classical style. The temple is an exclusive combination of glass and Gopuram, modern and traditional South Indian Temple architecture. The four 'Gopurams' inside the temple are connected each other by a striking glazed-glass canopy makes it a must visit temple in Bangalore.
The deity installation ceremony was conducted in the month of April 1997. The former President of India, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma inaugurated the Sri Radha Krishna Chandra Temple and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Cultural Complex on May 31, 1997.
The other attractions of the ISKCON temple at Bangalore are the ISKCON Vedic Theatre, Vedic museums and exhibit areas, ten mini computer aided presentation theatres, a lecture hall and beautifully landscaped gardens. A continuous chanting of 'Hare Rama, Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Hare Rama' is heard here.
The ISKCON temple attracts around 8,000 to 10,000 devotees daily. This number exceeds up to 15,000 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Akshaya Patra, a feeding program sponsored by the temple is very popular.

Sri Krishna Janmashtami: At ISKCON temple, Bangalore, the celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami is witnessed by huge number of devotees till midnight for the Lord's darshan. Abhishekam of the Lord is the special feature of this festival. The deities are bathed with Milk, Honey, Curds and Fruit juices. They are then showered with colorful flowers. This is followed by a Maha Mangalarati at midnight.
