Shasthavu Bhootanatheshwara Temple

Shasthavu Bhootanatheshwara Temple is one of the most ancient temples of Karnataka. The Shasthavu Bhootanatheshwara Temple is located in a place called Mijar village near Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district. The temple is dedicated to Lord Bhootanatheshwara.
The history of the temple dates back to 1500 years. The triple Shiva Linga found on a single platform in the sanctum sanctorum is a unique feature of the temple. The Shasthavu Bhootanatheshwara Temple also has rich historical and mythological background.

Recently, the temple has been renovated to make it more attractive to the future generation. Imported materials have been used to renovate the temple. The upper roof has been covered with superior quality copper plates imported from Germany. This copper is known as Patina Copper and it is green in color. The Patina Copper has been used in a temple for the first time in Asia. Best quality pink marble from Udaipur has been used for flooring and special Thailand tiles have been used to cover Pauli Gopuram.
