Udyavara
Udyavara, a village located in the outskirts of Udupi at a distance of 5 km south of Udupi and to the north of the Udyavara river.
Udyavara was formerly called Udayapura. It was the capital of the Alupas. Many inscriptions are found here. The Udyavara River flows through here, forming small islets.
The main attractions of Udyavara are the palace and fort area, which is famous for two walls. The inner one encloses a palace and the outer one consists of temples and business establishments.
The important temples of Udyavara are Siddivinayaka temple, Durgaparameshwari temple and the Shambushaileshwara temple.
